According to the BBC tech news site, Ofcom have approved the use of UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) RF devices without the need for a license - "Data can be shifted over distances of around 30m at up to 2 gigabits per second. However, its main use will be over much shorter distances for wireless USB, enabling a host of devices to connect to a PC without cables...

It's three and a half years since we last had the decorators in at Automated Home so we were well overdue for a new paint job.  We've ditched the magnolia and gone with what we hope you'll agree is a much cleaner, fresher, contemporary design.  The site is now much easier on the eye and the move to the Joomla CMS brings with it other new features and benefits for our readers...

Although they've been around for years, RSS Feeds are becoming more and more important to my daily absorption of information. The main reason for this is the excellent "Google Reader".

Reader is an on-line news feed aggregator that's becoming my main port of call throughout the day. Usefully there is also a mobile version of Reader which is great for mobile phones, PDAs and other portable devices. We've recently enabled the RSS feed on our Yahoo Group Mailing list, to add to our existing feed of this News page and our forums, so why not try it out with one of our feeds...
