Ah, the perils of automation. At 0512 GMT this morning a Reuters story headlined "Microsoft to release new multimedia edition Windows XP" winged its way to the company's customers. And then about 30 minutes later a bulletin from Reuters headlined "TECH-MICROSOFT-XP ADVISORY" seems to have headed to the same customers, saying, er, the story "is embargoed for publication until 1100 GMT on Tuesday July 16." |

Microsoft is looking to uncork a bottleneck for its software and services inthe home by selling networking products, starting this autumn, company representatives said.
The software giant has a team developing 802.11b wireless home networking products within the same hardware division that creates keyboards and mice. Company representatives declined to comment on the details of the future products, but said that entering the home networking market was in line with the software giant's interests… |

Network camera maker IQinVision has unveiled a new wireless video camera that comes with Wi-Fi , or 802.11b, capability built in. For the Home? Often on UKHA_D the question is asked, "What is the difference between an LD11 and an LD10?" well physically they are the same, exactly and the connections to them are also exactly the same so the wiring chart for the 10 is the same as the 11. The difference in the modules lies in the firmware, or software that is stored in the module, and this is what makes all the difference! The differences are as follows... |
