Marmitek have launched their second generation wireless HDMI system. The 3 piece setup comprises of a transmtter, a receiver and a remote control. The GigaVideo820 allows you to remove the tether between your source and your display device - for example you could feed a projector without the need for a cable running to it from your Blu-ray player. Yale launched some interesting new locks at CEDIA last month. Keypad and Touchscreen Versions are available and you can choose from Z-Wave or Zigbee wireless technology. Yale say the new 'Real Living' range are easily integrated into a wide range of home control and security systems including Control4, and promise this is just the start of their foray into the smart home market... |

The guys over at CyberSelect sent us some info on this beautiful wall mount dock for the Apple iPad. The powered unit charges the Cupertino tablet and creates an in-wall touch panel to rival the top home automation systems. The motorised slot tilts forward by 20° to allow you to remove the iPad too. Savant has been using Apple hardware for smart home applications for years now. Today's latest announcement is the 'Touch Remote' - a device that transforms an iPod Touch into a home automation remote control, complete with hard buttons (often the thing that's most lacking in a touch based remote control). Savant point out this is a remote that you can also use for VoIP phone calls and FaceTime chat.
