Cisco has revealed its newest versions of its Home Media Hub range that employs its Magic suite of network management software. The NMH405 enables users to access and stream digital music, photos, and videos throughout the home. It’s an intelligent storage device that aggregates media from PCs and other storage devices around the house and presents it in an easy to understand and navigate browser-based user interface. The NMH405 also features a full-color LCD Screen that displays information about your Media Hub and a 6-1 memory card reader. We love viewing our IP CCTV cameras on our iPhone, but some models don't play so nice on the Apple device. Our current favourite is the Y-Cam as it's mjpeg stream works great on the iPhone. However, there are ways of viewing your Axis, Panasonic, D-Link and other brands of cameras too on the iPhone and other mobile devices. The Core 2 Duo powered machine allows you to link to multiple ZONEs to play your media in any room of the house. Is small form factor and low noise levels will appeal and with it's built in slot-loading blu-ray player it's got a march on the competition. The OpenRemote guys have been pretty busy over the last few months. From launching their new website and Twitter feed, to publishing a new YouTube channel. But perhaps most tantalisingly this weeks blog post for the open source project shows prototype hardware up and running - sending commands from an iPhone, across Wi-Fi and out of their ORB hardware device to an IR signal.
