The "missing" button has a small LCD panel in it with a graphic representation of an analogue clockface...a battery level indicator...a "Transmitting IR" indicator...and a "WiFi Activity" indicator. On the left side of the screen is a stylus (if you want to use it) and a "click and scroll" wheel. Connected straight to my WiFi LAN at home - no issues. It goes and gets updates for the firmware from the philips website - all you do is say "Update".
