Swatch DECT Phone - Review PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 09 May 2002

I'll tell you a little story. I'm telling my better half "we need a cordless phone, for the garden and things". She says: "oh no, they're rubbish, my parents have one and it's always whistling, crackling and stops working just outside the back door". "But a DECT digital phone won't be like that, they're crystal clear and they work as far as the pub!", "Oh rubbish, they always say that on the blurb."...

Dell Digital Audio Receiver - Review PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 08 May 2002

Lust - As soon as I saw the Dell Digital Audio Receiver I knew it was exactly what I needed! About half as big again as a car hi-fi this small but perfectly formed box of tricks is the answer to a question I've had for sometime - How can I play my music collection on my PC through my system in the AV room (without having a PC in there!)...

WAP Server HS - Review PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 08 May 2002

In a professional capacity, I've been playing with WAP on and off for the last 12 months. For those people who have been shut in a dark room for the last 2 years, WAP was conceived as a low-bandwidth way for people to access the Internet via mobile devices such as mobile phones. I think I'm safe in saying that it hasn't exactly taken off in the way the designers planned. A year ago, it was being pushed as "the next big thing", however it soon became apparent that the limitations of viewing Internet information on a screen not much bigger than a box of matches wasn't what many people wanted...

Stowaway PDA Keyboard - Review PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 08 May 2002

As I mentioned in my Jornada review, one of the reasons I liked my old Psion was the fact that it had a built-in keyboard. Character recognition is fine for making the odd note, or entering a sentence or two in an e-mail but good as it is, it can get tedious after 20 minutes or so. This is where the Stowaway keyboard comes in...

HP Jornada 548 - Review PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 08 May 2002

My experience is that PDA users are as loyal to particular brand of PDA as the Windows vs. Linux people, the PCs vs. Macs people, and the old Atari vs. Amiga wars.

Because of that, I'm going to try to stay clear of singing the praises of Pocket PC over Psions or Palms, or any other type of PDA. All I will say on the matter is that I've been a Psion 5 user for a number of years, and although I still use, and like my Psion, I find that it's inclusion of a keyboard makes it just that bit too big to carry around on a daily basis...

Wooho! Beam me up Scotty! I think these pictures speak for themselves. This is one awesome remote. You can control up to 10 different devices with this one. It has 64K of memory on board (remember when that would have been a PC!). The unit comes pre-programmed with the Philips remote tables but it is primarily a learning unit...
