iPhone Smart Home

Well, it looks like Apple are set to make the UK iPhone announcement tomorrow in their Regent Street store in London.  I was lucky enough to play with the iPhone for a couple of hours on the day after its launch back in June in the US as I was there on holiday at the time.  While there are still well documented issues with the device, I have to admit to being completely blown away with it and so I’ll probably be buying one.  But what’s the iPhone got interest the Home Automator…

An article in the New Scientist offers an innovative alternative to an on-going problem for home automations systems - occupancy detection.  Reliably sensing if a room is occupied, or trying to locate which room a particular person is in, is invaluable information for a Smart Home system. While this new approach is interesting, we don't think it’s quite accurate enough to be the answer...
