Clipsal C-Bus Wiser

Clipsal have recently unleashed the new CBUS Wiser unit which appears to offer a great deal of potential to home automaters with CBUS to expand their CBUS network with logic features and an out-of-the-box touchscreen centric control system.

In essence, the Wiser unit combines the functions of a couple of existing CBUS units that you may already own, and additionally adds functionality not previously available in a hardware based unit.  The Wiser performs the following functions on a CBUS network...

Cytech have just launched upgrade packages aimed at existing users of their Comfort Intelligent Home System.  Users with installations using the original Comfort 1 system introduced in the UK in 1999 will be able to upgrade to Comfort 2.  This brings the the new family of products that includes slave expansion modules (SEP01-M2), UCM05 (RS232, Ethernet and USB), UCMs for C-Bus, KNX/EIB, Z-Wave, HDL, GSM, CWM02 Webserver etc to all users...

News this morning from our forums that Clipsal are going to open up access to their C-Bus protocol. This is the news many custom installers and DIYers have been waiting for as it should seemuch easier integration of C-Bus prducts with other systems.  Interestingly this comes very soon after the announcement that Philips have aquired Dynalite.  The future of lighting control is definatley going to be interesting...

The technical seminar was taken by Clipsal's "top brass" who had just flown in from Oz. Despite my pleads I am unable to show you any photos or talk about any of the new products we saw :( Suffice to say however, that the future for C-Bus is a bright one...
