I have now registered HomeSeer. I highly recommend this software to all CM12U users. It will turn your inexpensive computer interface into a very powerful device, adding IF, THEN, ELSE logic (and IR capabilities with the addition of the PC-Remote)...

Dedicated Home Automation PC

I've just built myself a new Pentium2 machine so my "old" Pentium 233MMX can now be dedicated to Home Automation. With 64mb of RAM this machine should be more than powerful enough to run HAL2000 when I receive a copy to test (hopefully before Christmas)...

HomeVision Supports UK CID

After upgrading my main PC's motherboard I at last had 2 serial ports free (the new board has a PS2 type mouse connector). This meant I could finally start to experiment with my Solwise Caller ID box. After some initial talks with Craig (of Custom Solutions Inc) he sent me the Caller ID version of the HomeVision software (this is a special version of the software needed for Caller ID for which there is a small charge)…

UKs 1st Home Automation Symposium

The weekend of January 9th 1998 and Keith Doxey (aka Krazy Keith) flies into Northern Ireland to meet me for what might perhaps be the UK's first Home Automation users symposium!! His kind wife (Sharon) had bought him the plane ticket for Christmas and he was staying with us at "Hotel McCall". A serious "lads" weekend lay ahead...
