 3G iPhone Launch

The wait is over, some rumours smashed, others proven true.  The next generation Phone was announced a few minutes ago by Steve Jobs in his keynote at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.  Of course the iPhone is now a 3G device as expected and it now features a built in GPS.  Read on for all the other juicy details...

OSXBMC Forks!

OSXBMC
Well, it looks like after much wailing and nashing of teeth the OSXBMC team has decided to officially fork away from the XBMC group.  I'm never a fan of forks, it always seems like it would be better to have one team pulling in one direction, but the pragmatist in me realises this isn't always possible, (indeed the xAP home automation protocol born out of our mailing list also forked into xPL).  In the meantime the good news is that Elan and the team is continuing and will now develop a separate app for the Mac.  We wish both teams continued success...

XBMC for Mac - Major Update with Extended Remote Support

OSXBMC

XBMC for Mac took another major step forward today with the release of v0.5.0 beta 1.  This brings extended support for the Apple Remote as well control from universal remotes and the XBox 360 remote.  It also includes a raft of other features and fixes (we've noticed that ripping movie thumbnails and info from IMDB is working much better for example) and is based on almost the latest from the Linux port code...
