TV Catchup, the service which provides quality live streaming of multiple UK television channels, have just launched a stand alone desktop application to view their service.  The dedicated Adobe Air app can be run on Windows, Mac OSX or Linux and replaces the need to run a browser whilst providing more functionality.  See the rest of the screenshots after the jump...

Sky's video-on-demand service, Sky Player has just had a make-over.  It now uses Microsoft Silverlight plugin (Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer are all supported) and for the first time will be available with a subscription so users can receive and watch live Sky channels without the need for a satellite dish or receiver.  Just use your PC (some features available to Mac users, but not all) and a broadband internet connection...

Back at the start of the year we ran a review of the TVCatchup service.  We ended our piece with a prediction that the "suits" might spoil the fun and it turned out just that way.  But now TVCatchup is back, no longer an on-line PVR, but now free live streaming of 15 UK TV channels.  Read on to get one of our invites to the beta...
