Almost 4 years ago we ran an article on the news that 220v Insteon was coming to the UK and Europe.  For one reason or another this didn't happen but today we're delighted to be the first blog to be given the exclusive news direct from Joe Dada that "The long wait is near its end."  We can confirm European spec Insteon units are already in use on trials and they will ship in 2012....

It seems the rumours of the last few weeks are true and X10 is really heading into receivership.  We've heard on the grape vine that Marmitek may have done an exclusive deal with ShangHai Super Smart Electronics to continue to supply X10 products.  We also spoke to a couple of UK Home Automation retailers too who told us they have a 'good level of stock'...

X10 have launched the 'AirPad', a new 7 inch Android powered tablet for $199. Powered by Cortex A8 with 4GB of on board memory (expandable with the addition of microSD cards up to 32GB) the unit includes a built in camera too.  No word on UK availability yet but at the price it's definitely creating interest.  Read on for more details...

iHomeTouch is a new iOS app from 1Jump2 for control of your X10 based home automation system.  The software is a universal app for the iPhone and iPad and will also run on the iPod touch.  The intuitive interface allows you to use photos of the rooms in your home with the ability to touch certain parts of the screen for control.  Check out the video below for an example set-up controlling Christmas Tree lights from an iPhone...
