The only thing I got my husband to do was mount the siren box on the front wall of the house. There was no drilling holes thru walls, no lifting of carpets in fact the whole installation was virtually mess free and it takes seconds to enrol each item onto the system. The only difficulty I had was clearing the event log when everything had been enrolled, which they didn't tell you about in the installation instructions. We have a dog and she has full access to all areas of the house when we are out, without activating the alarm.
