IIUC, they have a patent (application, possibly) for touch feedback, so that's certainly a possibility ... can't quite see it's utility, but maybe trying it would reveal all !

quite like the idea of digit movement recognition / gesture recognition - for a more free-flowing / less distractive UI, and they've made multi-touch work pretty well, so maybe this, too!

Haven't heard MS Surface mentioned much lately ... - CJ-UK

I suspect that the tablet will feature some interesting surprises.

Maybe (and this is wild speculation here) touch feedback on the screen itself?

Do I see this RUNNING home control? No.

Do I see this being yet another interface? Yes.

There will, I'm sure, be home control apps released that use this as the "main" interface, but once the features are released, maybe it becomes just another platform along with keyboards, mice, switches, voice recognition, etc.

How about camera-based gesture recognition - just swipe your hands in open air? - Mark Harrison

interesting article - ISTR also hearing about possibly surprising aspects to the user interface / how users will interact with the tablet - so, maybe multi-touch screen & accelerometers on & off-board (like Wii, say), and/or maybe digit (finger) movement recognition, and/or some form of audio (clicks, say), and/or a variation on the Apple Remote / iPod interfaces ... hmmm, probably none of those !

'tis tempting to think of both seven-inch & ten-inch versions being offered, each would have advantages, on couch or train / 'plane - even if the seven-inch was just an iPhone / iPod touch with more real estate, and the ten-inch went further, that could be good !

exciting times ...
