GreenIQ Smart Irrigation Hub is “Nest for the Garden”

Israeli IoT startup GreenIQ produces what they describe as a “Nest for the Garden”. The smart hub for the outdoors controls irrigation based on current and predicted weather conditions and claims savings of up to 50% in its customers monthly water bills.

Green fingered home owners can remotely control their irrigation systems and garden lighting from anywhere at any time via their iPhone, iPad, Android smartphones/tablets, Windows PC and Mac.

The Smart Garden Hub is waterproof and GreenIQ say it’s is the only smart garden device on the market to provide lawn lovers a full ecosystem for the outdoors.

The Hub is easy to install and connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi, allowing it to be remotely controlled anywhere at any time via GreenIQ’s web-based app, which is compatible with any smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac. The Hub is the only device that provides a full ecosystem for the outdoors, connecting to a wide variety of smart devices and sensors, including soil moisture sensors from Parrot’s Flower Power and Koubachi as well as Netatmo’s Weather Station and Rain Gauge, to determine ideal watering conditions.

Today GreenIQ have announced a partnership with IFTTT, creating a new channel for the device and expanding its functionality.

GreenIQ Smart Irrigation HubIFTTT allows the automation of everything from apps and websites to app-enabled accessories and smart devices. As part of the partnership, GreenIQ will be working with IFTTT to leverage its technology ‘recipes’ to enable the Hub to control more than sprinklers and move its way into the home so GreenIQ and IFTTT customers can put even more connected devices on autopilot. In addition to working with IFTTT, GreenIQ will continue to promote its own open API – GardenKit – to allow developers and partners to bring more intelligent garden apps to the Hub.

In addition GreenIQ have announcing its tie up with The Home Depot and a total of 2-million gallons of water saved milestone.

GreenIQ is also proud to announce that it has helped its customers to collectively save more than two million gallons of water since its beta launch last summer.  And based on growing demand for GreenIQ’s Hub, the amount of water saved will be exponential.
