Loxone have released three new products to the range in recent weeks and we asked them to give us a run down…
Designed to work with your smartphone or tablet, our new video intercom system is clever yet simple, allowing you to see, speak to and let in whoever’s at your door entirely remotely. It requires only a single PoE cable to work and has a range of top features, including: weather-resistant 5mm aluminium housing, specially-designed security screws, a choice of surface-mounted or wall-flush cases, glass not plastic used for the camera, crystal clear picture, perfectly synchronised hardware/software, excellent sound and a built-in microphone.
Our second new product comes in the shape of The Loxone Speaker (£77.50+vat). With a discreet appearance, changeable slimline covers and top sound – the Loxone Speaker is specifically designed to integrate with our apps and multi-room audio setup. Special brackets make them easy to fit and they’re weather-proof too so can be installed outside. One of the coolest things about these speakers is that they can swap between Mono and Stereo with the flick of a switch.
Connect your Loxone Speakers to the rest of your multi-room audio system and you can enjoy perfect sound in every room of your Smart Home. You can play music from different sources: your hard drive, CD player, MP3 player, Internet radio, Spotify, you name it. With the free apps, it’s all about flexibility and ease of use.
Slightly less glamorous, but no less exciting for true Automation fans is our new Loxone Modbus Extension (£165+vat). If you use counters or meters in your Smart Home then you’re probably familiar with the serial communications protocol technology of Modbus.
Be it in a domestic or commercial environment, the Modbus interface can often be found wherever there are meters, controllers, i/o modules, converters or networks devices. And now, with this new extension, they can be incorporated into your Loxone Home Automation system. Not only that, but you can also record and analyse the data and root out any money-wasting energy guzzlers! From there you can make changes to your setup in an entirely informed way.
You can check your energy consumption data in the Loxone app too. No matter where you are, you’ll always be able to monitor and respond to your meter readings immediately. But it’s not all just dry numbers – you can check out your statistics in a handy, easy-to-understand graphic form in the app as well. With the Loxone Modbus extension hooked up, other devices such as heating systems, air conditioning systems, etc. (anything with a Modbus interface), can be controlled as well.
