It looks like UK readers will have to wait for second generation units before they can install them however…

Will this work in the UK or other countries? Unfortunately, our initial product is made for 120v, not the 240v standard that is present in the UK and many other countries. You’ll have to stay tuned for our next release!

  1. interesting – though simply replacing light switches & relying on WiFi & Bluetooth comm’s could be a problem in many houses, would have thought – adding dLan hubs, might help, but that would mean going via several different WiFi channels, if it could work with that ? Plus how would it manage with anything other than houses arranged into lots of separate rooms – ie: could it cope with open plan ? Also, how about rooms with multiple lighting circuits – could it do scenes ?

  2. Yes, the Brilliant Control supports Scenes. It’s a good way to group the smart lighting with other smart home products.

  3. Looks great, please bring to the UK soon.

  4. I’m not sure a physical touch-based module is the way forward with this sort of product – it plays off daydreams of home control systems from the early 2000s, before phone capabilities were pushed to the next level. The app, however, is a great idea, and I can see it becoming the basis for more modern homes to get connected in the coming years.

  5. I plan to place my order soon. I think the mobile app is the best feature as well.

  6. I think this is great!

I’ve thought of hanging a fire tablet on my wall to do some of these things but this would be way better.

Thanks for letting me know about this 🙂
