Comfort Goes Flash

We’ve just got news on a raft of updates across the Comfort Smart Home Alarm system.  Most notable of all is the news that Comfort II’s CPU is now based on Flash technology (from firmware 5.xxx on). This means that new firmware can be downloaded by Comfigurator, the Comfort software (latest Version 2.2.1).  You’ll also need the UCM05, which is the new Flash-based replacement for the UCM01.  Here’s some other news for Comfort users.

Sunrise/Sunset Times/Daylight Saving
Comfort firmware 5.110 and above will have Sunrise/Sunset times which are downloaded from Comfigurator based on your location, city or coordinates. There will be a Sunrise and Sunset Response which can perform actions at the correct times, and a Night Flag is set after sunset to allow checking by other actions. This takes into account Daylight Savings time. In fact, Comfort will automatically adjust the clock for Daylight saving time on the correct days, eg Last Sunday of October and April, or the appropriate dates in other countries.

EN50131 / PD6662 Compliance
Comfort part number CP9000-ULT/EN03, compliant to the EN50131 European standards for Intruder Alarms (PD6662 in the UK) is now available for ordering. This requires keypads with different firmware, designated KP03E (without LCD) and KP04E (with LCD)
