    Homeseer scripts & asp's

For those who know me, I am a big fan of Homeseer and it scripting and web page capabilities.

I have written many scripts and asp's to support UK Homeseer users as many are totally American biased and unsuitable for use here.

If you have an good idea for a script or asp that may be of interest to you AND useful to other users, let me know and I will see what can be done.

No promises can be made that they will be answered or delivered since it is all on a voluntary basis and the complexity of the request.

All scripts & asp's that I have written are available from my Homeseer server via my site.

        Re: Homeseer scripts & asp's

        Mark,

In principle, I have no problem in providing you with my scripts & asp's for download.

At present, they are available for download both at my own site and the Homeseer forum scripts library. I like the method that the Homeseer forum deals with uploads as it gives me full control to update, modify delete etc. Obviously, I have similar facilities with my own site.

My only concern is the process of keeping scripts updated within your site.

That said, feel free to download them from my site http://www.jon00.me.uk/hs.html and use guest/guest for username/password. Please enter your name when prompted.

Full text for each download is available from here.

Do not download the enhanced TV listings package as this is now not working due to the data source being terminated.

Are these US specific scripts Jon?

Really looking for ones with UK relevance.

          Thanks

            Mark,

The scripts are either UK specific or general which can be used by anyone with Homeseer. Just take a look and read the descriptions.

I think you might be narrowing your field too tightly with just UK relevance. A script that deals with announcing emails (for example) is just as useful to a UK Homeseer user as an American one!

Deano wrote a cool RSS feeds script which can be used by anyone with Homeseer. I personally would not deny a place for this script just because it is not UK specific? Its a shame its currently not working with your site!

              Jon

Been working fine since the whole site changed (i.e. when the Forums came along). - just need a slight adjustment of the url...

I was going to post a note on the Homeseer BBS but I forgot.

                    Hi Jon,

What would be nice is a National Lottery checker that reads out the results of your entered ticket details from an INI file.

Would have a go myself but too many other projects on the go and not had time to learn the ins and outs of the Homeseer scripting.

                    Regards
                    Dave...
PS.. You BBC weather script is excellent.

                      Dave,

Noted - I have some other projects on the go at the moment including a new UK Traffic script. When I get some time, I will take a look.

I think you like all the data in the ini files so that you can read them in another language if my memory serves me correctly?

                        Thanks John,

You have a good memory there. Yes, I used your weather script and I read the ini file and display the information on my kitchen touch screen PC. Still works a treat. Well it did until last week when the hard drive crashed. Just waiting for a cable to rebuild it with a new drive. I miss having it handy to view the current and forecasted weather.

Your script is also great in the morning as I run the speaking one before I leave for work. Well cool.

                        Dave...

                              DynDNS

                              Hi Jon,

Impressive page! I was pleasantly surprised when I took a wander through this afternoon.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to link DynDNS and/or No-IP to a Homeseer script.

Unfortunately, I have a Netgear router and I'm sure you know what they're like. It drops connection fairly frequently so I have it on X10 so I can reboot it from a remote or the PC. What I'd love to have is a facility whereby when DynDNS goes offline, it reboots the router for me. Don't suppose you could look in to it some time?
