Karam,
I've been playing this morning and connected the resistor and I'm now getting 2.65v; is this low enough or do I need the diode, if so can I use a BAT43 instead as I can pop to Maplins and...

Karam,
I've wired it up as per your suggestion and I've checked the yellow wire and I'm getting approx 5.5v with fluctuations of +/- 0.1v.
Does this mean that I can't use it with a QRI or do I...
Hi All,
I have a water flow sensor that has the following spec:
•Pulse output frequency (Hz)= 4.1 x Q where Q=volume flow rate in L/min
•Connections: RED (positive), BLACK (negative), YELLOW...
Hi Chris,
I did exactly as Gumby suggested.
I already have an Outside Light Level sensor. The connections / outputs are mostly configured to work with the modules / objects in the Lounge which...
Today's update has fixed the problem and button presses are now working again.

Sorry about that;

I'm thinking via a pulse count meter. Now I know it's possible I'll be ordering a wind sensor soon.
Thanks Karam.

Ah ha !!
Learning all the time, thanks for that.

Some advice please.
We have an Outside Sensor module that gives light level as one of its outputs. Our first fully automated room is our Lounge and nearly everything is working as we want. I’d...
Thanks to everybody for your input on this subject.
Just to add something else into the mix .....
The reason that we are wanting to add wind sensing to Cortex is to do with our now infamous...
I've now emailed Viv with a copy of my database and he gave me an example of a message that he used on one of my network objects. However, in his example he had omitted the two (new) 0's on the end...
Depending on how you want to go, I've got one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/usb-cat5-booster-221290, works perfectly.

I had that problem as well, yes he did fix it very fast and all was fine.
I've been checking XFX and the messages are being sent by xAPFlash but Cortex is not responding for some reason. ...
Has anybody started experiencing the following;
First a bit of background information. I have xAPFlash set up to toggle various lights and display temperature information etc. As I 'fine tune'...
Chris,
I wouldn't worry whether Chris gets to read your reply, my reply or any other reply. The main thing is that a lot of people who are just browsing the forums or who are searching for...
I'm a Heating Engineer also and I couldn't have put it any better myself. The only thing that I would add is that if it is feasible and if your are going to use a wireless thermostat you could...
I've also found this

In addition to reed switch output it also has an option of a 0-10v conversion kit, however, they don't...
Does anybody have any suggestions or knowledge of any hardware that could be interfaced with Cortex / Idranet to measure wind speed, also any thoughts on the actual implementation and interfacing?
...
Viv,
I did start to look at that but got very stuck very quickly see http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?3421-Running-a-Cortex-Macro-for-xAPFlash. Perhaps it's my lack of...
I've just answered my own question. If you're using xAPFlash you'll need to add 00 to the end of all your current UID's.
- Neil
Viv,
Does this mean that if, for example, objects like HVAC and Motor Control could be xAP enabled ( hint hint ;-) ) to give control over all of their many functions i.e. not just on / off /...
Does this update affect xAPFlash?

Is it possible to have multi line button labels that are centred both horizontally and vertically? If so, how?

Chris,
Just a question, are you not using a centralised wiring system? I'm purposely putting most of my Idratek hardware at node 0 and running wiring out to wherever it's needed. It has taken...
