to be honest Frogmella i'd get the landlord to sort it out.
it's a guess but turn the tr2 onto constant and wire the myson into the room stat terminals on the boiler.
i reckon the cold feed to the system is blocked
yes i'd go for the colorifier If your competent and doing it yourself,
i wouldn't spend any money on it, i'd put up with the noise and save up for a new boiler.
have a check around for any dripping hot taps,
it only takes a drip on a puma for the heating not to work.
sorry for the delay,
having ongoing problems with my internet connection,
between the cold water inlet and the central heating return pipes going to the boiler there will be a filling loop....
why not take the pin out of the new bleed instead of changing all the lot.
you might aswell put a new central heating thermister on the boiler, it could be that.
somewhere on the system (usually the lowest point) there will be a drian off point, connect a hose pipe to the drain off, run the pipe outside, open the drain,
you don't have to turn any water off.
does the boiler cut of after 30 secs when on hot water?
hello Sadkiller
first of all what does the pressure gauge show on the boiler?
it needs to be around 1.5
open the valve that connects the central heating to the cold water until you have 1.5...
Calling toscal.
All's well that ends well.
Yes, that would be my guess,
I'd just change the motor.
I would almost certainly say it was the diverter valve stuck in the hot water position,
or the zone valve if you don't have a diverter.
although the valve seems to be motoring, the ball inside...
my first thought would be the hot water thermister.
thermostic rad valves
If you live in a hard water area russelly then maybe the heat exchanger on the multipoint is full of scale,
it will shut down on over heat because there's not much water going through it when the...
sorry Simonm but i'mguessing here
does you system have a cylinder stat
the reason i ask is
a guess that a 5 wire diverter will automaticaly spring back to hot water and let the boiler stat...
have a look at the pilot light through the little window steve,
how big is it?
what colour is it?
there is only one thing you really need to do when you service a mersey and that's make sure...
can you see how many wires are on the valve
put your clock on heating only and if the pipes get warm to the cylinder and not to the heating then it's on the wrong way round,
did the system do this before the new valve?
is the house new...
sorry Ray,
if the central heating and hot water work ok when the programmer has tripped then it's new programmer time,
if the central heating and hot water don't then it could be something else.
do you have to press the reset button on the boiler?
if so it's the circuit board, your as well getting potterton round to do it,
about £250.00 + vat.
i can't say as i've ever known a reset...
if you can get to them try turning of the boiler isolators that feed the central heating usually sited on the pipes directly under the boiler there will be two of them on two 22 mm pipes,
then...
