What house thermostate can you recommend

    Hi,

My house is controlled with a Comfort Alarm system and X10.
Last year I replaced my house thermostate with a Horstmann digital room thermostat.
Allowing better control of the temperture at differen times.
I have now given up with it, its Cr?p.
It locks itself on (boiling us all), locks itself of (we freeze) and I believe its all because it runs off batteries. Also when u change the batteries it forgets its settings meaning you have to reprogramme it.
(had I known that b4 I bought it I wouldnt have bought it).

Anyway what can you recommend I change it for, mains powered please.
(I have live, neutral and switch at the thermostate location)

    Thanks,

    hot & cold Dave.
    Regards,

    Da\/e.

That appears to be a manual type.
I'm after a digital theromstate to replace my digital one.
So that it can adjust the temperatures through out the day and night.

        Dave,

Have a look at these, they may be of interest (someone passed this info to me):
Honeywell CM67 - they are "Chronotherms" as they are a combined thermostat and timer. They also have a clock module that
picks up the Rugby Time signal which means they always have the right time and switch over automatically to BST. They also have optimum start to learn how quickly the house warms up. So at 6:30am it will be the required 20c upstairs as it knew how long it would take to get there.

        Some more info here:

No personal experience, but may give you a starting point. There's another, simpler one I was thinking of but the make/name escapes me at the moment. When/if I remember I'll post that too.

        HTH,

        Tim.

          Hi Tim,

          Thanks for that info.
I also have requested some literature from Heatmiser (http://www.heatmiser.co.uk/)

          Looks like a nice product.
I will post a quick review when I have chosen which route to take.
          Regards,

          Da\/e.

well the Heatmiser arrived very promptly and was installed within half an hour.
            Very easy.
The display is extremely clear and so far seems easy to operate.
Its all programmed up so lets see what happens.
I will give it a few days and see how it gets on.
            Regards,

            Da\/e.

              Hi,

I have a Comfort Alarm and was looking into Honeywell Smartfit, however since doing my research it turns out the smartfit is not so smart!

I'm interested to hear how the Heatmiser is working and wheather you considered the smartfit.

              Cheers

              Freshy
