Default Using DFP button to reset network

    Afternoon all,

I'm having issues with the server than runs Cortex as it keeps loosing its disks. Although I have a watchdog function it doesn't seem to be working properly which I need to investigate, but that is not the purpose of this post.

Is it possible to use a DFP button to intiate a network reset regardless if the DFP thinks Cortex is running or not? If so would this need to be programmed via Cortex AND Reflex to ensure it works regardless of network state?

P.S - new mobo on order which will use an Intel Core i3 CPU and H55 chipset as this seems to be a very flexible combination that uses ~35W at idle

I'll answer my own question as I discovered the problem with the watchdog function. I got the reset functions round the wrong way, i.e. it should be reset world followed by reset device.

As for my other question it looks as though this is documented in Cortex help under "System Reset Module"

    System Reset Module
This is where a module is specifically used to provide a system reset function. By its very nature it should be located somewhere where it is not normally accessible by a user as it is expected only to be used very infrequently. Two buttons of a module are used for its operation. A module called a Dual Button Interface (DBI) is typically used for this operation. However a DRB or QBI module may be used if required.

Should the system fail then it would be expected that the other recovery mechanisms would take over i.e. Defibrillator or System Watchdog. However if these also fail or do not respond quickly enough for the users liking, then the user would press button 1 on the System reset Module. It would cause the system power supplies to reset and bring up all the modules in their reflex programmed modes.
I set this up on my DFP using button 4 and 5. I think it works certainly I puased Cortex and the network reset into Reflex mode
