    Looking for an Abitana installer

A few years ago I installed the Abitana Omni-media system in a house in SW London. I'm quite happy with the system, but we're looking at converting the internal garage into another room and I'd like to extend the existing network down into the new room.

The company that did the original installation no longer trades, so I've looked at Abitana's web site for alternatives. It lists 3 companies in the UK - I've contacted all of them, but had no response from 2. The third is too far away to make the job economic. Asking local AV specialist/network companies has produced no joy as they claim to be unable to install and test this particular product.

Does anyone know of someone in the South-East who can supply and fit Abitana?

Installing Abitana Ommimedia cable is no different to installing CAT6 cable, and testing is the same. When I haven't been able to install the cable my self and its been up to a local electrician etc, I just send then the specs for the cable. I would then go up and do the final testing and commissioning.
Normally basic testing would involve checking for leakage across the pairs and earth, and then a quick continuity check on the pairs, (just twist each pair together at one end and test at the other). Then if that's all ok, then we start adding the connectors. Then a quick test with a network continuity tester. If it passes this then 99% of the time the cable is fine.
Abitana have changed the style of connector you may have the new ones already. These require no special tooling other than a decent pair of small side cutters. Just press each cable into its slot cut the excess off, screw the base cap on and that's it, no punch down tool is required.
If you need a specialist try asking Minitran as they may have a local installer who is more that capable of installing the Abitana cable. Minitran are Abitana's UK agent.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Thanks for that, I've sent several emails to Minitran about this - they've not replied. Looks like I'm going to have to do it the hard/expensive/long way by doing it myself. SWMBO will NOT be happy.
