    One for Chris

    Chris,

Thanks for the second excellent write-up of your home automation project. On reading I wondered how many electrical points you placed into each room? Did you go with dual patress and single socket control? Did you go for radial circuit all back to node zero or hybrid tier?

    Hi Paul -

thanks - surprisingly difficult to do, so hope it read OK ...

electrical points ... all radial, one MCB per location, one RCD per Consumer Unit, generally three single sockets per location, with space on enclosing door to hook power strips to multiply up when needed ... several locations per room, but we're pretty open-plan, so there's some debate about what counts as a room !

      Chris,

Again thanks for sharing your setup. I'm going with two locations per wall, with two sockets per location, so that would be about ten sockets per room (not placing sockets on window wall). Have a feeling this isn't enough but this setup is three QRH-001 per room.

ah, misunderstood - almost none go through relays, our location sockets are a separate arrangement ...

things controlled via IDRANet are wired-in direct, bar a few that went via a (concealed) plug & socket just to ease servicing ...

there are spare relays all over the place, for later additions ...

best laid plans, of course ...
