    If VPN was causing an issue then it cannot be dealt with by Honeywell apart from maybe extending the time allowed for a connection to the Honeywell server from the App to allow for the extra delays created by the VPN process. If you have a live VPN connection running it will generally mean that all of your internet traffic is being passed over VPN to a remote network, and if the remote network is using ADSL with the usual slow upload speed then this can severely impact the speed of response for any data activities on your device until you close the VPN connection again.

    Normally on an iPhone you can set up the details for VPN connections and manually choose which to connect to and when, they are not normally active all the time. I have several VPN connections stored on my iPhone but none of them are normally in use until I need them to be, and during my use of the VPN I do not normally use any Apps that would require internet access.
