    X10 Home Automation Projects

I'm looking for automation projects to try out. Some of the ones I have already include:

Aquarium Automation - Night and Day Cycle
    Baby Monitor
Outdoor Security Lights With Motion Detection
    Bird Feeder Cam

I'd love to get some ideas of projects to do from everyone. Feel free to email them to me if you don't want to post them here.

One thing that I want to try, once I get my head round how to wire the landing lights, is motion sensors on the landing and hallway controlling the lights.

Not only can this be used for security, but also for loo breaks in the middle of the night, turning the lights on (dim settings!) to stop stumbles!

I'm just trying to figure out how to wire the landing and hall way lights up without having to change the installed wiring.

      Darren.

        Darren,

Are you looking for two way wiring- if so look at the diagram in this link - I haven't tried it but it looks like you can re-purpose the exisiting wiring to give you x10 control over a 2way wired light.

Fantastic! Exactly what I needed. Cheers for that.
