I'm taking my first steps into home automation and I'm definitely at the shallow end of my learning curve. All I have so far are Philips Hue bulbs (and hub) an Amazon Echo dot and Fitbit Aria scales. I will be adding smart sockets and then radiator valves and possibly cameras in the near future.
In order to future-proof as much as possible I'd like a hub that will connect with all of the main home automation brands (so that I can just keep adding gadgets as they take my fancy) but also be user friendly and fairly resilient. I've searched for UK hub comparisons and not found anything of use and I've tried the smarthomedb playbook to see what it suggests but it doesn't seem to be updated any more (it doesn't even have the echo+ yet!).
I want all of these devices to work seamlessly together without complicated DIY coding or similar. I like the way that the Echo app handles setting up routines although it does seem very limited; and by comparison I find the Philips hue 'settings and routines from multiple apps all conflicting with each other' to be a headache!
So what hub would you suggest for my needs?
Thanks :-)
