    Default Voice Patch Panel

Anyone know where I can find a 19" telephone distribution panel like the one below.

Above one is from http://www.letsautomate.com/10649.cfm? but is not 19".

    Thanks.
    Nick.

    Hi Nick,

If you have a normal patch just punch down the telephone cable without the cutter and just loop to 4 or more ports. Thats what i have anyway. Here is a picture from another discution but instead of having two cables punched into one i just looped the cable from one patch to the other.

If I had a penny for everytime that photo of my handy work had been shown I have had the best part of a quid.

At a penny per view I could be getting close to a fiver

I will have a 24 port cat5e patch panel. I will have 4 spare unused ports on that panel.

Would it be better to use another patch panel for the voice or will it be ok using the 4 spare on that panel?

    Thanks.

If you are never going to need the extra four ports then there is no point buying another panel.

If you wire the incoming phone line to the rear of the panel then all 4 ports can be patched otherwise you will have to use one of the sockets to feed the line in so only have three outputs available.
