Automated Home Lurker
What to choose???
I am in the final year of my OU course and I have decided to do a home automation project.
I have investigated the various technologies that are available to assist me with this, and having checked stockists etc, the only one that seems to be available in the UK is X10.
Is this the case, or am I missing something? I have looked at UPB, Z-Wave, Zigbee, Insteon and X10. All are available in the US, but I do not want to spend loads on importing this technology just in case it does not work on a UK circuitry.
The one technology that does interest me is Insteon because it is powerline and RF based. Plus, its compatible with X10, so if I did choose X10 to do my project, I can add Insteon to it in the future.
Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

Re: What to choose???
X10 probably has the biggest range of modules available at the lowest cost.
Z-Wave is available in a limited fashion in the UK, but there's plenty of C-Bus kit and EIB should be readily available too.
