Smart home favorites Global Caché have been busy recently releasing a new PoE version of the Flex along with a relay and sensor cable.
The new Flex IP with PoE (FLEX-IP-P) allows for power to be pulled from an Ethernet connection, avoiding the necessity for a separate power supply. The PoE version of the Flex is available on wired units only.
The Global Caché Flex Link Relay & Sensor cable supports four configurable contact closure outputs and four configurable voltage and contact closure sensor inputs. Combined with an iTach Flex WiFI or IP unit the new cable instantly puts a variety of relay devices onto a wired or wireless network with sensor input for state reporting of connected devices. The enclosure can be mounted directly on a DIN rail, allowing for simple integration with external relays.
In addition Global Caché announced the availability of their latest iTach Flex firmware, version -14, to support the new hardware.
The firmware adds functionality to the Flex with support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability (in Flex IP with Poe devices), and support for the new Global Caché Flex Link Relay & Sensor Cable which supports 4 configurable contact closure outputs and 4 configurable voltage and contact closure sensor inputs. The firmware upgrade includes enhancements to the Flex update capabilities, updates to the HTTP API and other features, as well as various bugs fixes.
