We’ve just noticed that PC World appear to be selling a PAL version of the Slingbox! Have we missed the press release? After checking the PC World website there are none showing in our local store, but there is stock showing at some other stores we tried. With the World Cup just a few weeks away there’s bound to be huge interest in this device, which allows you to watch live or recorded TV streamed from your home to a PC or SmartPhone anywhere in the world…

With the Slingbox, you are simply streaming TV content you have already paid for via your TV license and satellite/cable connection. They are NO monthly fees and absolutely NO subscription charges.

How does it work?
The Slingbox utilises your existing wireless network to stream your content around the internet, making it available for access via your unique user ID. There are 3 simple steps in setting up your Slingbox… 1) Connect your Sky/Cable box to the Slingbox using a standard S Video connection lead
2) Connect your Router/Modem Router to the Slingbox using an ethernet cable
3) Load the SlingPlayer software onto your PC/Laptop or PDA and set up your user account – and away you go!

How many devices can I hook up to the Slingbox?
There are 3 input to the Slingbox: coaxial, S-Video, and composite. This means you can connect up to 3 video signals to the Slingbox. However, the S-Video and composite video inputs share a single audio input.

What if my satellite box and router are in different rooms?
The most effective way is to use a wireless access point. This allows you connect the Slingbox to your network wirelessly. See Wireless Networking for more details.
