But I’m surprised it can run off 6 volts for a year and connect that quickly to wifi the video over… Hmmm…
Looks bulky, and not something i’d want on my front door! Doesn’t look very waterproof. Wi-fi a very unreliable method and will limit installation range to being near a router. I doubt this would work effectively in many stone houses or foil plasterboard houses used in modern house construction. I agree with the above post, can’t see the battery lasting a year powering a camera, wifi etc. I imagine these will turn into quite a novelty beer trophy for many, being so easily removable!
Good idea, but as others said, a Year on 4xAA batteries, highly doubtful. The only way i can see that happening is if the WiFi is not connected all the time, so when some one presses the button, there will be a few seconds delay until the Doorbot connects to WiFi. On a plus note, its given me an idea for a project on my Spare Raspberry Pi that will allow me to automatically record callers, and play back a predefined message.
