X10 Launch New RF Remote for Windows Media Centre

Here’s an interesting Windows XP MCE remote from X10. Available in 2 designs, the unit is RF rather than the normal IR. As well as getting 10 metres or more range, without the requirement for line of site, this unit also removes the need for the big ugly IR receiver that’s currently required with the Microsoft remote.

“Imagine your PC in control, up to 10 meters away, using a unique wireless remote control! Thanks to the MCE remote control you can now directly access to the DVD drive of you PC, for example, in the same easy way as your do for your CD player.

With Live TV, DVD menu and Record TV, mode keys, you can launch your different players at the touch of a button and navigate in their specific menu thanks to the navigation keys. Control your digital TV on PC the same way as you do with your normal TV

The MCE remote control is compatible with Windows MediaCenter Edition, so that you can organise all your “multimedia files” just as you want. Just select your downloaded audio & video files with a simple key press. Even control your web browser and access your favourite web pages, or navigate in any other PC application.
