    CM12U replacement transformer

    The secondary winding of my CM12U has gone open circuit probably due to the well known issues with overheating.

    I can't seem to find a like for like replacement so was going to purchase a 240 volt with 0-18 0-18 secondaries but have a couple of questions that I hoped people here could answer

    Am I correct in assuming I can do without the centre tap on the primary and what does anyone know what VA rating I should opt for on the secondary ?

    I am not bothered about the existing casing so if anyone has successfully replaced the transformer I would be greatful for any advice.

    Thanks

    Have a look here www.geocities.com/ido_bartana/ he has quite a good X10 site with plenty of info on mods. The site might have the info you need or point you in the right direction.
    Good luck
    IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

      @toscal,

      Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I have searched the web and checked out the above site without success.

      I have ordered a couple of transformers and will let everyone know how I get on.

      Cheers

      NOS.
