Evohome 2nd hce80 not triggering boiler relay

There is a subtle unpublished difference between the two UFH controllers. One uses it's internal antenna and one requires an external antenna, and that was all that people thought were the differences. However from sniffing the RF data we now know that one controller does not publish the individual zone demands, but only a single consolidated Heat Demand for the entire UFH controller. It's a pity really. This was uncovered in another thread.

Ok just upgraded the Firmware on the controller to latest version and now the second HCE80 now triggers the BDR91 as it should do and the system status screen shows 100% demand for zone and boiler relay so problem now solved.

Does the HCE80 now show the individual zone's Heat Demand in the System Summary page? Or just a single Heat Demand for the entire UFH controller?

Kevin, any pictures of your UFH zones on the System Summary page ?

Hi Bruce, on the system page each zone now shows either 0 or 100% as does the bdr91 , same for all zones on both HCE80’s now.

0% or 100% seems like an ON OFF control, and maybe that is right. I thought the UFH powered actuator could do partial Heat Demands too. But maybe not.

Individual zone demands are between 0 to 100% with the maximum demand sent to the OpenTherm bridge.
