Personally, we went for the Homeheat system and it's been okay - there are some niggles with it (the batteries don't seem to load the quoted 1 year on the valves - nothing like it!), but on the whole...
Incidentally, if it's any help, I think all of our TRVs that we fitted were Drayton RT212s, which worked fine with the FHT stuff:

Hi Longview,
I'm not an electrician, but I believe you CAN do this - all that the boiler connect (and other timers) does is to open or close a switch to allow power to flow into the boiler.
...
Hi Pheonix,
I was surprised at this as well - the devices broadcast their addresses, so they ARE discoverable. However allegedly they'll only talk to one device at a time, so as soon as...
Alternately of course you could put your thermostat to "MANU", and scroll up to "ON" - I believe this should always set the actuator to 100% regardless of the measured temperature?
Russ
That's right - the boiler should circulate water for a few minutes to prevent the water temperature continuing to go up in the boiler while it's cooling down.
Re the pressure valve, if you haven't...
I found the same with all of my radiators - they seem to get to full temperature when the valve is only 60 or 70% open, which makes sense as all my rads are fed off two zones, each of which is 15mm...
That sounds odd - I believe the first thing the actuators do when you attach them to the radiator is work out the correct positions for 0% and 100%.
The actuators have quite a wide range of...
In case it's any use, when I fitted my FHT setup, I also replaced all the central heating plumbing and as part of this fitted new thermostatic valves throughout.
Even though all the TRVs are brand...
Just to add a bit more to this, I have a suspicion that the FHT system is being "intelligent" - in other words, it's trying to work out things like how long the room takes to heat up and how quickly...
Hi Simon,
Did you have any luck?
Russ
Can I just enquire, how much would you want for me to buy / borrow this off you for a few weeks?
I'm using a CUL device to connect to my system, and I'm concerned that this may allow me to bypass...
The FHZ1000 is a central control unit that I believe allows you to from ONE unit control all of the thermostats centrally, if you're happy to manually program each room, and if you're going on...
As a minimum to properly get you started, you'll need 1 of these per zone you want to control:

Hi there,
I've had 7 of these things running in the past, and for some reason there does seem to be a massive noise difference between the load ones and the quiet ones! Fortunately for us, the...
Hmm... do you know exactly what model FHT device you have? The one I've got in front of me here says FHT 80B-2 (underneath a dumb sticker that just says what batteries it takes)
Also, try sending...
Good stuff, look forward to reading it!
This was (and still is) one of my biggest frustrations - the FHT devices, providing you've got the right type, do send the measured temperatures, but...
I don't suppose you've got a computer controller in there? The stuff ELV manufacture is.nothing if not confusing! My first thoughts would be to do it with FHEM, but as I say, that needs a computer...
Good choice, IMO! Can you let me know how you get on setting the thing up? I still recall that for me the process was:
1. Plug in device with button held down on the bottom
2. Install the...
Hi Jon,
My advice would be if you're not IT literate, probably go for the FHZ1300 as it comes with some software as part of the package (not great software from what I've read, but it's a complete...
Hi all,
Forgive me if I'm missing something, but has anyone else here got a FHT central heating installation, and had the thought that there's no security on these devices?
For example, I can...
If it's any help to you, we've installed our Housetech / Conrad supplied FHT-based system for around £70/room (add £40 for each additional radiator in a room). Of course this assumed all radiators...
Hi Jon,
I've had this happen on one occasion, where I had to set the temperature to 23 or 24 degrees to open the actuator at all in a cold room (around 16 degrees), but it's certainly not a...
Hi Gary,
The post mentioned in the earlier reply is regarding the FHT / FS20 technology, manufactured by a German company (ELV I think they're called), available in the UK from a number of...
