thanks, Paul.
Yes, that makes sense Speedychuck. Opentherm would be able to send lower temperature water. This means less heating power. This would probably prevent the room from heating up during just 1 minute of...
I've read about people using a HR92 like that in underfloor heating, so it's possible. But you need to do some plumbing.
No, I said it continues to rise with 1 minute of heat per 10 minutes being applied. If I wrote otherwise somewhere, please point me to it, I'll fix it.
I think it wouldn't break anything for...
We're going in circles here, Paul. You're going with the "your boiler is oversized"-argument again. I've explained in the opening post and a later post why this is not a correct or satisfying...
When I use the phrase "when more heat isn't needed", then i mean when REALLY no more heat is needed. Not to maintain temperature either. We're talking being 1 degree or more above setpoint and still...
the on/off cycle could do it very precisely, other thermostats prove that. It's just that it needs to skip cycles when more heat isn't needed.
The TRV can try to throttle back by partly closing,...
I have used and monitored Evohome for 2 winters, I saved the readings. As I mentioned, I'm now using Tado, but I'm hoping Evohome to get fixed, because I would like to use zoning again.
PS:...
Weird. I Can't help you. Let's hope someone else can :)
No, sorry, that's not it. It happens without HR92's too (single zone modus). It happens in rooms with just 1 HR92 too. And unless the multi-room setting is enabled for a zone, there's just 1 HR92 in...
what does the system return when you do a signal test with the BDR91?
Thanks PaulB, that's a very clear and similar graph. And indeed, having just 1 zone active is the only way to know for sure what zone is responsible for heat demands.
Probably because it's programmed to stop cycling if it doesn't receive a demand percentage? (and only if it doesn't have contact for a long time it switches to 'lost contact mode', if enabled in the...
The controller sends a percentage and probably sends the minimumon + cycletimes parameters as well (and maybe other things). The key part is that the controller does not send ON/OFF to the relay....
Decided to make a seperate thread, to keep things clear and not mix with other issues/questions. Sorry in advance for the long text.
Introduction:
When I got Evohome (color edition, no wifi), it...
TPI in itself is indeed is a good way to keep a certain temperature. You should be able to set the duration of the TPI cycles by changing the value in the advanced settings. Default is 6x per hour....
PS: I'm using Tado now and it keeps the room at 1 temperature just fine as well. Very steady graph from my temperature logger. Now just have to wait untill next year, when they'll release their smart...
as far as I know, it doesn't. If you're using the right adapter, it should work out of the box.
are you saying the setpoint was 5 degrees and the measured temp was 16 degrees by the way?
Just to be clear: what was the temperature in the lounge at the time?
Firing the boiler when valves are shut is never good practice. It has nothing to do with preventing overshoot either. If an overshoot is about to happen, just don't fire the boiler anymore.
Eletricity doesn't come cheap either of course. But it is easy to use and easy to setup. And more handyman that know how to fix them probably. But if you would like to control 2 additional zones...
easiest option probably: get an electric heater with built-in thermostat for the bed room.
Agree with emmeesse68. Is should be possible to make sure the boiler isn't fired anymore by the boiler-relay when all valves completed closing. And an extra safety margin of a minute or 2 to...
I agree, single zone should be fine to be used. Teach your wife what plugs/batteries to pull and re-insert to restart the Evotouch/boiler-relay and teach her to operate the manual boiler-relay button...
