Assuming you have HR92 valve heads throughout then I think it'll work, but is mixing up two concepts.
If you simply brought the relays to positions 8 and 10 while leaving valve wiring as now then...
Going out on a limb here to try and help, so potentially adding confusion and don't do anything based on it yet :).
I took a look at the Veissmann installation docs, and read the Wikipedia page on...
Does that mean that you've rejigged the wiring so that the orange wires usually used to fire boiler from both zone valves are disconnected, and only the Opentherm bridge is calling for heat on the...
I'd thought about removing the head as well. I can't see why it wouldn't work. All the springs, etc are in the head, so the stopper part should just stay where you leave it.
Is there not therefore some linkage between those thermostats and the boiler to ensure the behaviour that you describe, so that the pump only comes on if there is heat in the boiler to satisfy the...
The relay will need permanent 240V on the L+N terminals to be able to receive commands from the controller. If you take the "I'm hot now" feed from the boiler to the MV via the relay's volt-free A...
Do you mean just for heating hot water for taps? Or the hot water that circulates in radiators?
MV? Mixing valve?
The relay takes a permanent 240V for powering the radio bit, then has volt...
You'll presumably want radiator valve heads (HR92 devices) as well. Do you understand the wiring and water valve installation that you have? It'll probably need no modification, but mat be worth...
The ordering options for the controller are shown on the controller data sheet: https://products.ecc.emea.honeywell.com/norway/pdf/atc928g-en0h8596-uk07r0814.pdf. If you plan to buy the separate...
Depending how inventive you want to be you could replace just the two on the 15mm legs, and wire the remaining zone valve in parallel with boiler. It then opens whenever any of the system wants...
Your valves probably have 22mm pipework, and those are 15mm which will constrict flow quite a bit.
When you removed the grey and orange wires on the junction box did you wire the relay in at the same points? If so then whatever was driving the pump over run ought to still be getting the signals...
The text in that section says "In total, 8 zones can be controlled individually", which is what I based my optimistic reply on :).
The older black and white Application Guide shows a 2 zone equivalent of this in section 2.2. I'll try an post a link when properly online.
I think it'll work based on that.
If the current...
I'm wondering if the following might also be a contender. I think it's mentioned up thread that firing boiler may not be necessary as long as water can be circulated. A variation on the zone valve...
I was told that typically (as in most of UK for a few cold nights with reheat during day) it was the localised cooling effect of cold draughts blowing past that are most likely to lead to frozen...
Both handy to know. The 20C came from some piece of Honeywell literature IIRC, but seemed an odd fallback compared with keeping the current setting. Good to hear that it does do the latter.
I...
My son complained that it was waking him up, so I've simply set his to a low 8C overnight for now. I do wonder if there was some connection with that valve having comms errors for the first couple...
I find it a very interesting problem :).
You're right of course - I was thin king of something similar I'd been playing with recently.
Agreed. I was thinking that at the latched...
That comment got me thinking. I grabbed a spare 4043 Honeywell valve that I happen to have and did a bit of measuring.
As can be inferred from the conversion kit picture above the valve works by...
It could be another software config item to choose which way you want it to work. I find the way it works confusing as well.
I already sent this to the Honeywell contact point, but no reply.
A) Dual relay box compatible with standard / legacy backplate. This will allow two relay outputs to easily be taken to a wiring...
Yes, that's it. But I' not sure I'd call that S-Plan anymore. If that is what you have to tell EvoHome then fair enough, but I'd have thought it would understand the setup without having to call it...
My comment about "better" was inferred from higher in this thread and others, so I wasn't trying to claim you thought it was :).
I agree with 1, mentioned 3 above as one of the possible benefits...
