I have the same, its on charge all day/night, i remove it and within maybe 15 mins its saying battery low and doesn't even last half an hour before it turns off

Tool wise its C# and sql server, and as MrB says once its in a database you can do what you want with it...
I have created an app and a windows service to log the evohome data along with the weather data from wunderground, currently logging to a SQL server db but this could be changed to something else...
