My UFH heating pump is the Adaptive ramp up version, and the TPI from the BDR91 was making for quite an inefficient system. The pump was almost constantly ramping up, having been abruptly shut down...
  3. Heating Off, the new firmware and TRVs sticking

I was watching a video on TRV repairs and it seemed to suggest that when the Heating system is switched off for the season all the manual TRVs should be rotated to the open position. This is to stop...
  4. Latching the motorised zone valves open

I normally tell people not to latch motorised zone valves because
    a. They might cease in that position.
    b. Latching them, does not actually open them completely.
    But something I hadn't realised...

I realise this is an old thread but I just got my plumber to put in a 2 port rotary valve as linked to earlier. I left the 2 port motorised zone valve in place too, just in case, but it's now wired...

0% or 100% seems like an ON OFF control, and maybe that is right. I thought the UFH powered actuator could do partial Heat Demands too. But maybe not.

Kevin, any pictures of your UFH zones on the System Summary page ?

Does the HCE80 now show the individual zone's Heat Demand in the System Summary page? Or just a single Heat Demand for the entire UFH controller?

There is a subtle unpublished difference between the two UFH controllers. One uses it's internal antenna and one requires an external antenna, and that was all that people thought were the...

I coded this bit in Domoticz, so I know it works :-) And in fact the notifications was my primary reason for parsing the Fault log and publishing it to Domoticz. This addresses the biggest drawback...
  11. TRV opens when HR80 battery is low and Heating Off

One of the radiators was getting warm even though the Heating has been set to OFF. Couldn't explain that because the only thing that is firing the boiler is a Hot Water top up schedule. The TRV...

If you have HW scheduled to come on that frequently you might never see the notorious comms failure error. Go for it. I have Solar panels, so it's not unusual for my HW to not come on for several...

It all depends how you have your HW schedule set. If the HW temperature is constantly changing it causes the sensor to send our messages more frequently, which works fine for the Controller.

Believe it or not the bug is in the Controller and not the sensor. It's caused by the Controller missing the infrequent sensor message when the temp of the water is not changing rapidly.

Simon has learnt to live with the quirkiness of the system. He hasn't thrown his system away. We all use it quite actively. And even though it's not perfect, it's still probably the best smart...

We have investigated this issue to death. The HW sensor will transmit very rarely when it's not in an active heating cycle and thus the HW temperature is not changing frequently enough. Nothing you...

It's a firmware bug, not a hardware bug. Get it, and learn to live the issues. It tends to work fine during an active heating cycle anyway.

I thought only the BDR91T can deal with the cooling reverse demand and the BDR91 can only deal with heat demand.

As for the relays, this is how it works in Domoticz. By default the relays in the system will get named and have the same ID as Controller. However these devices will report the Heat Demand. While...

In a zone with a H92 and a T87RF, Domoticz will produce 2 or 3 devices, depending on if you pressed the "All Sensors" option on the Hardware at any point.

Now you will appreciate why I didn't spend too much time translating the Device ID to names, because a single Device ID could actually have two names in Domoticz.

Yes the SSM shows up as ACM0 due to the way the Atmel drivers work. The MCU used in the SSM no longer needs a separate Serial to USB interface, which generally announces itself as a USB0.
