Would removing the batteries help?
Totally agree. I can only think that there is a hardware problem, otherwise why would they leave this problem for years. They also appear very unwilling to acknowledge the problem.
While delay undoubtedly plays a part, I am not convinced that it is the only issue. My observations (not just those posted) would suggest that local micro climates could also play a part. Not a...
Sorry do not use accuweather. Checked today Tuesday 22 Dec at 10am. Dull, overcast, not much wind temperature stable.
Outside thermometer 10 deg C
Evotouch 6 deg C
EvoHome App 7 deg C
...
Today, Sunday 20th at 11pm, the outside temperature is reported by my external thermometer as a stable 8 deg. Alexa reports 6 deg, Evotouch reports 6 deg, Evohome App reports 8 deg and iPhone says 8...
8:30am today. Actual temp is 7.4, both EvoHome (app & controller) and Alexa say it is 5 deg.
I should have kept my mouth shut. Just checked and Alexa says 5 deg but Evohome controller and app both report 7 deg which is what my outside sensor reports. iPhone says 8 deg. These are all as at...
I am not on the trial and will not be using weather compensation when the new software is rolled out, but I do look at the temperature reporting on the controller, in the app, on amazon alexa and...
I would never use optimisation in a bedroom.
1. As you say heating can make the room feel stuffy and disturb the last bit of sleep. If the bedroom is too cold, I prefer a quick blast just before...
I agree that, at least in my case, signal strength is not the cause. It is really disappointing that Honeywell have made no comment on this issue, that has been reported and discussed on and off for...
For well organised households that follow a regular schedule of activities, this is undoubtedly the best way to operate any heating system and especially one, like EvoHome, that learns. However,...
There are definitely things that need correcting/improving in EvoHome, but the fact that it is not dependent on the cloud and provides completely independent control of all zones are essential...
As others have said it is more efficient to let the tank cool then reheat, it will also reduce boiler cycling. A condencing boiler gives best efficiency when running at low flow temperatures, but...
I am not part of the beta trial, but isn't one of the new features intended to reduce overshoots. It may be worth asking for an update to the new software. Make sure you read the thread first to see...
Not a reboot as such, just a battery charge refresh and twice a year is about right. For me around spring and autumn.
I find applying a metal screwdriver to the batteries damages the plastic outer...
Have tried several objects including screwdriver, pentop and the plastic date tab from sliced bread, to seperate and/ or remove the batteries, none work well and I certainly would not expect other...
Are any more changes planned? If not, it would be a good idea to roll out the new firmware now so that people can get used to it before winter starts to bight. If there are still bugs then better to...
I repeat this procedure from time to time to make sure the batteries stay charged (should not be necessary, but ....). The biggest problem I find is removing the batteries. They are a REALY tight fit...
I have HR92s on all radiators and my boiler includes an ABV. The system has been working without problems for 6 years. Fitting an external ABV might be necessary depending on your boiler but should...
The initial installation of my HW sensor was on the other side of a stud and plaster wall, less than 0.5m from the Evotouch and gave frequent comms faults. It was moved to the other side of the...
What if the receiver has too wide bandwidth or suffers multi path interference? The receiver of the independent monitoring system may have better discrimination?
As distance does not appear to be a reliable predictor, could the problem be interference or crosstalk?
Still have doubts about this feature usefulness because of solar gain etc, but I think the only real alternative to using an out of sync weather service is for EvoHome to go back to offering their...
I don’t think it is a good idea to tell people they need a 3rd party sensor to make their system work properly. Also if I installed a Hew motion sensor it would not be in the best position for a...
This has been known since the initial release. I was reporting temperature variations back in April. Andy the Minion replied as detailed below. Unfortunately he never came back with the explanation....
