Hi Scott,
what versino of the EvoHome controller have you got? I'm fairly certain mine has the option of Electric Heating (or something similar) on the zone setup. I'm not home until Thursday but...
I got it working in the end, dumb user error, I wasnt selecting the USB port in Domoticz...
However now I've had it and after the many replies and info in this thread (thanks all) I'm now finally...
I've got one you can have. Only been used for about a week.
I got it for £100, happy to go for £90 inc postage.
PM me if interested
thx
Thanks guys, however as I've got a live system I don't really want to go back to the start and reinstall from a backup.
Also from the info Honeywell have given me I don't think I need the HGI80...
Hiya,
thanks so much for the big reply, and yes this all does make sense.
the only thing that still confuses me is that the boiler will be called for heat, but the only rads that are calling...
Ok great, off shopping I go! Just ordering the OT gateway on Nodo-Shop.
BTW, and off this topic, does anyone know who runs this site (automatedhome), and is it just me or are cookies broken on it?...
hi all,
thanks again for the replies, hugely appreciated.
I agree at position 15 there shouldn't be any heat demand, but I am seeing some. I've ordered an HGI80 to try to get to the bottom of...
Morning all,
hope everyone's enjoyed the sun! What an odd bank holiday :)
So, I'm coming to the conclusion that EvoHome is just bad when it comes to keeping temps normal when it's not quite...
I agree on the learning, I smell BS.
Re the 1am thing, I don't see that there should be any OpenTherm message whatsoever, it's changing from all zones to being 18 degrees, to all zones being 12...
Hi all,
I'm getting to the bottom of this...
The crazy nightime high output, I think this is down to a bug in EvoHome. I use Domoticz to set actions based on my alarm system, and when going to...
Yes, exactly, so why is Evohome calling for 60degrees to do this evey 5 minutes? why not a 30degree constant call to take advantage of the condensing boiler?
If it tracks well, but only does this...
Thanks DBMandrake,
I've reset the head to see if this'll solve it, but the graph below shows flow/return, and this one zone in particular which tracks it setpoint almost exactly.

I'll...
Ok, I get the first bit, however should evohome be asking for say 40 degrees and the boiler giving that? I don't see how I'm getting burst of 60 degrees requested + delivered with opentherm. The...
Hi Paul,
as per my first post in this chain the boiler is showing a demand when Evohome says there isn't one, this may be explained however by the 1.5+/- you've said where it may pull.
However...
There is only the one zone during these hours calling for heat and it's at the setpoint, and keeping there.
I don't understand however as this is they case why is there such massive variances in...
I did just try again a signal test and all looks fine, however one thing which it'd be good for other to check.
When checking DHW both Opentherm module and BDR91 flash 5 times (full signal), and...
Morning
Looking at the temp reading this morning I've had another night of Opentherm calling for 40>50 degrees all night, despite all zones being off.

@DBMandrake - yes I'd just rebooted...
Nope just the vr33 to the evohome.
Hi Bruce and all,
thanks for the invaluable help on this. the install of the VR33 went easily. On the 240v side of things you just need to leave that disconnected.
the only issue however is now...
Yep I second this. Close the manual valve fully on the rad, then set the HR92 to pull full heat (30 deg or so), then slowly open the valve until you can feel the pipes pulling the hot water (note,...
Hi all,
after taking the plunge of first evohome and then deciding to go upgrade it to opentherm I'm having no end of issues.
I've got a Vallient boiler using a VR33 module and this interfaces...
Hiya,
you can use BD91 to control any number of the zones (up to the max of 12).
The BD91 can be added as a few types of zone (note you'll need a separate thermostat to get the zone temp):
-...
Brilliant thank you!
Is there a cheatsheet for getting into the installer menu to check if it's seen?
Also on the switched 240v that currently calls for heat, do i disconnect that, or make it...
Hi Bruce,
photos below. Would be great to know what I plug where etc.
