For anyone that's interested, there's now a project by zxdavb to use HGI80 on home assistant, see the following forum thread...
There's already a good understanding of the RF protocol in use, see
https://www.automatedhome.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?5085-My-HGI80-equivalent-Domoticz-setup-without-HGI80
So, Raspberry Pi + Display + Case, in something like

Then just a case of adding in the required RF board. ...
Is the touch panel really required ?
The developer is already on AH Forums as well, it's https://www.automatedhome.co.uk/vbulletin/member.php?40264-zxdavb
Certainly interested in going down the python route with an HGI, I'm following this closely
...
Found this in the installer guide for Xtreme and XClusive boilers.

dty, yup your NodeRed components, took very little time to figure out, more time working out device ID's.
Would love to be able to start controlling from NodeRed, but getting stuff graphed is the...
Got it working, looks great, a bit more tweaking of config needed.
Ok, so a quick test of the evohome-listener, and it's not as featured as domoticz. So I'm now wondering is there anyway to get the data from the HGI80 into both domoticz, and evohome-listener.
...
Thanks for the pointer Dan. Will take a look.
Is anyone aware of software that takes info from an HGI80 and publishes as MQTT, looking for logging only at this stage, although longer term MQTT control would be ideal
As I've got some valves on my evohome based system that need to be replaced, I'm also thinking about replacing some radiators, a like for like replacement is the obvious thing to do, but are there...
Does anyone know of a source for daily / weekly historic weather data (specifically temperature) ?
Hi,
I've got 5 brand new Z-Wave StellaZ Radiator Thermostat's for sale.

£40 inc postage each.
Thanks
Yup, xmas lights are well known for causing RF problems, including affecting broadband connections. Back to good old candles I say.
Interesting stuff Paul. Are you talking directly to ovo's servers or the IHD ?
Could you get a cat5 cable from the meter box to somewhere more useful ? It's possible to extend the clamp connections.
Shouldn't be any need to open the consumer unit to install smappee. The sensor simply clips round the live incoming cable to the CU.
If anyone's interested I have some StellaZ valves, brand new in the box that I never found the time to build into a DIY system, ended up with Evohome and associated bits.
I think it's safe to say smappee is pretty mature. But if you're going to make decisions based on device status then smappee isn't the way to do it, in fact whole house monitoring isn't the way at...
Here lies one of the best kept secrets about smappee. You don't need the solar model to monitor your solar PV generation, as long as you're a single phase household.
For anyone interested here are...
Hi All,
So I understand that you can set a time duration for quick actions using the long hold method. Is the expected behaviour for quick actions that don't have a duration that they remain until...
In what way are 'we' saying it can't be trusted ?
Depends how you look at this, it's three pages into a thread that's specifically targeting OpenTherm and Evohome.
