My controller hasn't been updated yet - is it still being rolled out or has it been held up for some reason?
I tried to get a discussion going on this (Combi boilers to work with Evohome) but, unfortunately, it got sidetracked into an admittedly fascinating discussion on hydrogen as a fuel.
That doesn't happen with the NiMH "Low Self Discharge" type. I keep them for months after charging and they're still good. Same with power tools, I used to have to put my drill on charge the day...
Same in the UK. Also, our local 'recycling centre' - AKA the tip - has a battery disposal point. I'm sure most do these days.
I can also recommend Battery Logic - good service - and the Technoline charger. I used one for a few years until I connected it to the wrong power supply :(
I use GP Ultra as well and they last well - I haven't monitored specifically but at least a year, probably longer..
I've had the same problem at least twice now. The first time it happened (October, late morning), I rebooted the controller (by taking the batteries out) and then started trying to rebind all the...
I know there's a long thread on the beta but that gets sidetracked all over the place!
I'm just wondering who has had the new version automatically? My system's not been updated yet, I'm just...
Presumably, hydrogen can't be manufactured at the domestic level? It's a simple process, after all.
Fascinating post, thanks for that. I’ve been wondering about hydrogen and heat pumps. Maybe this thread should be retitled and made a sticky, it’s getting very educational.
One of my neighbours...
Hi folks,
My vintage (probably 1988) Ideal Mexico boiler has started making alarming noises (like a kettle heating up but much louder and seems to be magnified by the pipework) and I think it's...
Brilliant! That'll work for me.
I have held off joining the beta trial, thinking that it would soon be over and we’d get the release version! Also, I’m not a tinkerer any more and like to go for a quiet life. It’s now been 9 months...
My system (and I haven’t joined the beta trial) is on 2.00.17.03. 1681
I have the same question. Why would the pump or boiler run when the valves are all shut? Especially an old fashioned system like mine (Ideal Mexico, no fancy controls). I just can’t understand why...
I’ve had the red low battery symbol on my system and I’m not on the beta firmware. I think it’s always been there.
I guess you’ve done this but check the lockshield on the other side, make sure it’s open enough for the flow to get through.
I have moved the CS92A away from the tank - it was a bit close - but I haven't tried rotating it. That's worth a try. Thanks
Hi Folks,
My Evohome system was installed a couple of years ago and seems to work OK, apart from the hot water being a bit erratic. I'm wondering about the positioning of the BDR91s. They are...
I don't change anything. I rely on the heating turning itself off when the weather is warm enough.
Thanks, just two clips behind the batteries, as you said. Nothing at the bottom.
I've moved it so I'll be in to see if the hot water temp is more consistent. It's still a bit close to the tank ...
Can anyone tell me how I remove a CS92 transceiver? I think I need to move mine after a new towel rail was installed and the pipe is only about 6" away from it.
It's quite low down and there's no...
Any update on this? The thread has gone quiet...
I'm bumping my head against it with 12 zones, one per room. I did want to add another at one point but, for the life of me, I can't remember why.
In the couple of years I’ve had Evohome (with 12 HR92 + HW) I’ve not noticed any problems with battery contacts. I do find the little springs a pain to release and reset when putting new batteries...
