    Potterton Boiler

I have a rather acient potterton kingfisher 2 boiler which has always performed well.
I now have a problem and at an inconvenient time as I am trying to move house. Hot water is being forced back up the supply pipe to the boiler storage tank. This results in the overflow sending out water and also the water in the tank gets hot.
I have had all the pipes blown through as it was thought there was a blockage. A new two valve has been fitted as the old one was faulty.
The boiler switches on and of and the boiler thrmosta seems to work OK.
Has any one got any ideas rather than me replacing the system?

apart from this does everything get hot and if so how hot?

does it do this on water only or on water and heating?

if the stat is ok then i would be leaning towards checking that the hot water return is not blocked where the cold feed comes in.

Thanks sunbeam I am going to try and run the heating on its own to see if the problem is water only. I have had someone I know look at the system and he has blown through the pipes and said there appears to be no blockage. When I have done my bit I will give you a progress report.
Thanks so far for your suggestion
