    I will make them.
(But I am still an "analog" photographer, so that will take some time...)

    Hi Jos,

Which bits of hometronic have you installed?
Can you give a rough idea of the cost?

I like the ability to turn each radiator into it own zone. Would be interested
to know if there is a way of getting it and Comfort talking

    thanks

As promised some more info and photo's of "my Hometronic":

I made a separate patch area for Hometronic because I gradualy built up the system, and in that way it is easier to add or change things...
(patchbox cover removed for the photo)

The HCE60 has a wireless connection to the Hometronic system (and the sensors) via the MMI (userinterface).

The userinterface (not visible) is connected via a 4-wire CAN-bus to the modules.

approx. prices of the modules (without VAT):
    system/comfort/alarm/telecom: EURO 200 each
MMI (user interface with RF transmitter, not on pictures): EURO 300
HCE60 (underfloor heating controller) EURO 300

    Frank,
I am not really familiar with PLC's but I would say no.
It is a dedicated "homecomputer" that communicates with the other modules (and the MMI's) via a CAN backbone.
It is not an open system, very proprietary.
Maybe I will make some more pictures of the interior pcb's -in due time-.

I have designed my own replacement controller using an Atmel AVR microcontroller, an LCD display and a few buttons. The system consists of 2 parts, the main controller which has all the timing functions and a boiler interface module. Both are interconnected via a CAN bus network on CAT5e or 4 core cable.

The whole system is standalone but can be controlled remotely from the PC via the CAN bus network. Various status displays and screens are fitted around the house and remote control via SMS can be achieved through software currently on the PC but later to be implemented as an embedded solution.

The existing system remains as is and in parallel, but is switched OFF.

It has been running now for some 4 months without any problems. Additional features are boost control and 3 programmed times per CH and HW circuits. A new controller is in the pipeline with touch screen and greater features.

More details on my website at www.embeddedcomputer.co.uk
