Puma 80 Pressure
Hi,
we have a Puma 80 boiler. We've had ongoing problems getting all the radiators hot. The system has been rebalanced, but with no real improvement. In the last couple of weeks, the pressure has been dropping, causing the heating not to fire. Manually pushing the pressure back to around 1 works for a few hours, but then it drops again, and the heating switches off.
What is the likely cause of this?
Many thanks in advance

Re: Puma 80 Pressure
either,
you have a water leak on your central heating,
the pressure release valve which terminates outside via a pipe is weaping,
or, have you noticed when the central heating is on, the pressure rising in excess of 3 on the gauge, then falling back down when the heating shuts down. if this is the case the pressure vessel either needs pumping back up or has gone, the pressure will rise when the heating is turned on it will rise above 3 bar and then loose its water via the pressure release valve.

Re: Puma 80 Pressure
Hi,
thanks for the reply.
Weirdly, until this evening it had only been dropping after a refill. But I refilled it a couple of hours ago and it has 'stabilised' at around 2 on the gauge. Will keep an eye on it, though I'm sure there is an underlying problem.
Thanks again for your time.
