    Old X-10

Greetings from a novice X-10 potential user. Many years ago I purchased some X10 equipment and software. It's been in a box for a long time. I still have a 'Home Control Interface' ref: CP290 and a couple of 'appliance modules'. These seem to work when directly pushing the buttons. Does anyone know if there is a way of using these items to automate through my PC? What software would I need? What other hardware? As you can tell I am a novice at this, and any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers

    Re: Old X-10

You will need either an XM10 or CM11 or CM12, your old interface may also work. What you could do is download either Homeseer or Xion, both give you full functioning demo of their software and see if your CP 290 will work with them.
    www.homeseer.com for homeseer
    www.xion.annalytics.co.uk for X10n

Homeseer is more comprehensive than X10n.
