Homevision webserver with dynamic IP address
I have dynamic IP addresses on my home network connected to router/ ADSL modem - I gather this is sensible from the security point of view. Is there any article re instructions on how to make such a system accessible over the internet without compromising security? I gather I need some way of allocating IP addresses eg DHCP but am pretty mixd up about the whole thing. I've also given up trying to sort the same issues with my X-vision CCTV software.
Any help or pointers very much appreciated, meanwhile I'll keep Googling,
Phil.

Re: Homevision webserver with dynamic IP address
Try www.no-ip.com/ This solves the dynamic ip problem. My router has the ability to log automatically to www.dyndns.com which is similar to no-ip. So see if your router can do something similar, look under Dynamic DNS on your router settings.
Also check out the Homevision forum on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/homevision-users/ for help. I know on the Homeseer forum they did a how to for this so you might be able to adapt it. www.homeseer.com .
